Mazal Tov to Rivka Schechter (former HFLA-SA Board Member), the entire Schechter Family, and Congregation Agudas Achim of San Antonio, on the dedication of the Bracha Bench, a beautiful artistic tribute to the late Rabbi Louis Schechter, Z'l, former Rabbi of the Congregation. The bench (seen in the photo) was quietly commissioned by Rivka's dear friend, Connie Brauer and lovingly created by Artist, Oscar Alvarado. Participants from across the Jewish community and others celebrated the occasion with the Schechter Family and Congregation on August 8, 2022.
The bench sits outside the synagogue in a serene garden area where people can come for a rest, contemplation, proposing marriage, or simply enjoying the outdoors. It will serve as a permanent reminder of Rabbi Schechter and his family whose spirits surround you with warmth and love.
May all who visit and use the Bracha Bench always remember the many ways the Schechter Family has positively impacted and continues to enrich the lives of so many people in San Antonio and beyond.
