Donor's Testimony

TESTIMONY TUESDAY:

✡️ A Jewish value is TZEDAKAH (justice), which we now refer to as giving to charity. No matter how much money we have, we should think about whether we can give to charity. 🤲

Bette Cochefski did just that and wanted to share her story about why she chose HFLA-SA to support.

Bette's story:

"My first experience with HFLA-SA was 3 years ago this month, when my husband and I moved to SA to live closer to family. I learned that one of my grandsons received a loan to help with his college aspirations to enter a pharmacy program at UT Austin, following his undergraduate program. It sounded like a great organization ready to help people of all ages. Following that, my son-in-law was asked to be on the board of directors of the organization, and I certainly learned more about what was offered and events they had for the community. I volunteered at the community picnic and will continue to do so. When doing volunteer work with SAJSS, I heard more about HFLA-SA from other volunteers. One area of focus is offering their loans to the elderly population.

When it came to honoring Tim Grossman's birthday, there was no hesitation about which organization; I would support. Tim is a national figure with the organization, he had recruited my son-in-law to be on the board and his mother-in-law, and I have become close friends. They are a needed service in the community."
